To honour the Day of Immunology on April 29. This year’s topic is “Brain and Immunity: Immunological Insights into Neurological Disorders.”
There is a strong interaction between the immune system and the brain. The immune system triggers neurological disease but at the same time helps to cure the disease. On the Day of Immunology 2025, we explored the functional role of the nervous system in immunity and also discussed the immunological mechanisms and treatment options for rapidly increasing non-communicable neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer disease. Environmental factors ranging from infections to the gut microbiota may have substantial impact on both disease and cure.
