Duration: 1 year
Objective:
A post-doctoral researcher is required from February/March 2021 in the Immunology Group, RCSI-Bahrain, based in the new, state of the art, RCSI/KHUH Clinical and Biomolecular Research Laboratory based in King Hamad University Hospital.
The successful candidate will join a program of research investigating the regulation of innate immune signalling, with a specific focus on intracellular signalling cascades, such as the JAK/STAT pathway, in both macrophages and neutrophils.
The project will use in vitro expression of genes and human blood samples. A major component of this translational project will be the design and optimisation of novel therapeutics to enhance the immune response.
General duties include:
·Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required
·Representing the best interest of RCSI Bahrain and the Research Department at all times
·Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related biomedical subject.
Required Experience in:
·Human blood processing (PBMCs, neutrophils and serum isolation)
·Tissues culture of cell lines
·Real-Time qRT-PCR
·Flow cytometry (intracellular and extracellular analysis)
·Immunoblotting
·Molecular cloning of genes into DNA constructs and sequencing analysis
·Over-expression and knock-down of genes by tansfection
·Bioinformatic Analysis.
·Statistical Analysis
·Manuscript preparation/writing
Desirable experience in:
· CRISPR gene knockdown
· Nanostring analysis
· ELISA Genie multiplex analysis
