TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowship Programme

The TWAS-CUI Fellowship Programme for Postgraduate Research offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to obtain all or part (sandwich or full-time) of their PhD in natural or social sciences. TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowships are tenable in the departments and laboratories of the campuses of the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI). CUI will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs.

• SANDWICH Fellowships (for those registered for a PhD in their home country): The Fellowship may be granted for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 18 months.
• FULL-TIME Fellowships (for those not registered for a PhD in their home country): The Fellowship may granted for a period of up to 3 years. Candidates will register for their PhD in the relevant department at one of the campuses of CUI, Pakistan.

Fellowships are tenable in the departments and laboratories of the campuses of the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) for a minimum period of 6 months to a maximum period of 12 months.

OWSD PhD Fellowships

The Fellowship is offered to women scientists from science- and technology-lagging countries to undertake PhD research in the natural, engineering, and information technology sciences at a host institute in another developing country in the Global South. Candidates can choose between two study schemes:

• A full-time fellowship (maximum 4 years funding), where the research is undertaken entirely at a host institute in another developing country in the South.
• A sandwich fellowship, where the candidate must be a registered PhD student in her home country and undertakes part of her studies at a host institute in another developing country. 2020 TWAS Fellowships

The 2020 TWAS Fellowships call for applications is now open for PhD and Post-Doctoral programmes that are offered in the natural and engineering sciences to students and researchers from developing countries to gain postgraduate education and research experience at top global science institutions in the South. The call is currently open for the following programmes: Postgraduate: CSIR (India), SN Bose Institute (India), CUI (Pakistan) and ICCBS (Pakistan). Postdoctoral: CSIR (India), SN Bose Institute (India), CUI (Pakistan), ICCBS (Pakistan) and NCP (Pakistan).
