Research Interest: My research interests are driven by the emerging concern of polyparasitism in Africa and its impact on male sexual health and fertility rates. As polyparasitism, the co-infection of multiple parasitic diseases, gains prevalence in the African context, there is a pressing need to understand its repercussions, especially in terms of male reproductive health and mental well-being. I focus on the multifaceted aspects of this issue. Firstly, I investigate how polyparasitism, often associated with infectious diseases, affects male sexual function. This includes exploring the role of neuroinflammation, which can be triggered by parasitic infections, and its implications for sexual and/or cognitive impairments.
