IMMUNE TOLERANCE: IMPACT ON HEALTH AND DISEASE

Immuno-Cameroon will introduce the key concepts and applications of immune tolerance in health and disease through lectures, discussions, and practicals by leading experts in the field.

The course aims to help students, clinicians, and researchers better understand how immune tolerance is induced, controlled, or lost to alter health outcomes.

Co-organised by the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) Education Committee and the Cameroon Immunology Society.

  • Immunological tolerance: types and induction mechanisms
  • Innate and adaptive immune cells in tolerance induction
  • Immune tolerance in cancer and autoimmune diseases
  • Immune tolerance in infection and coinfection (malaria, Respiratory, Helminths…)
  • Immune tolerance in emerging and re-emerging infections
  • Pregnancy-associated tolerance and infection

APPLICANTS

The course is open to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scientists in biomedical research.

Selected applicants may receive a partial or full scholarship for accommodation, meals, and travel.

All selected applicants must complete an online pre-course on immunopaedia.org.za, starting the week of 25 September 2026.
